Our Mission

“Animals don’t know as much about jealousy as people, but they are not ignorant of it either.” – Steven King (Jackie’s favorite writer)

Promoting the betterment of animals through activism, caring, education and collaboration.

During good and bad times the needs of assisting animals (domestic, wild, abandoned, abused), animal owners and organizations is always of great importance.  We know that education and informing the public is key in addressing these issues.  It is important for people to spay/neuter their pets to control over-population and an increase in stray animals.  ARF’s PAW Veterinary Clinic in Muncie offers low-cost services for people who qualify.

“I am thrilled to honor my friend and mentor’s legacy by building a stronger network of support for the betterment of animals.  Animals have always had my heart.  They are loving, compassionate and a friend to all people.  I believe animals make us more compassionate, happier, and positive in general.  Jackie’s foundation is all about the animals and the people who love them!”

Collaborations

The Jackie L. Michael Foundation is unique in that it collaborates with first-line organizations, educators, animal-focused groups, animal professionals, product manufacturers, associations, government entities and other philanthropic organizations. The Foundation will be working with educators to introduce animal care education into the schools.  Starting with Muncie and Delaware County schools, we hope to expand this collaboration with schools in other cities, counties and states.  We believe education at an early age is the key to a better future with fewer animals needing to be rescued.  We plan to have this information accessible at our website in the future as the program is developed.
